CamelBak Podium Chill insulated bottle: $16.00 $8.55 at Amazon
Save 47%
- The Podium Chill is quite easily the best water bottle I, Josh, have owned. Unlike an infuriatlingly large number of competitors, it works exactly as it should.

The twist-lock top is totally leakproof, the screw-on lid too, and despite using it for extremely sugary drinks and having been through my dishwasher well in excess of 200 times, the design remains good, water remains tasteless and the insulation still works as it should.

This isn't quite as cheap as we've seen it before, but it's only $1 off that. The Camelbak Podium probably won't make you any faster, but if you've ever had a bottle leak in your bag, car, or all over your downtube, buying this will make you so. much. happier.

Amazon gift card

It'd be remiss of me to spend two whole days talking through deals content without sharing one of our own offers... so here goes. Luckily it's also related to Amazon, so it's contextually relevant. Win win!

If you're in the UK and you take out a magazine subscription to any of our sister-brands (*minus a few selected exclusions) before October 19th, you'll receive a £10 amazon.co.uk gift card.

Outside the UK, you can get six issues of your chosen magazine for a flat rate of $25/€25.

Unfortunately this offer doesn't apply to Cyclingnews paywall subscriptions.

Head to Magazines Direct for more.

What are YOU buying?

Anyway, enough about me and my dogs... I'm keen to know what you, our readers are buying in this Prime Day sale. If you've made a purchase - or you're looking for something specific - let us know in the form below.

I've used a basic Google form because they're easy and most people are familiar with how they work. All responses will be totally anonymous, and if I spot any trends I'll share them (also anonymously) in updates here later.

If you're looking for something specific, I'll even do my best to find you a deal and share it here.

The dogs have been walked though, and fed, and now they're asleep.

The puppy, Zero, is 11 months old and she's currently nursing a sore shoulder after she ran into a tree. Well, that's what I think happened, she was out of sight.

This means she's on pain killers and lead walks only (every dog-owner's least favourite phrase) for 10 days. Naturally, she's driving my fiancee and I slightly crazy because as a eurohound/greyster, she's literally bred to run.

JOSH IS BACK!

Did you miss me?

Don't worry, I wouldn't have either.

I've only been gone for little more than an hour and it looks like AI has taken over. I'm surprised I didn't return to an email announcing my redundancy. Maybe I shouldn't joke.

Just so you can be absolutely sure you're getting the best deals, my wonderful colleague Tom has just gone through our entire Prime Day Deals Hub. He's added fresh deals, and updated all the prices if they've changed, so they're as accurate as can be.

ALL HAIL DEALBOT, ALL HAIL DEALBOT, A L L  H A I L  D E A L B O T

We've created an AI Bot that hunts for prime day deals so you don't have to. In all honesty it's pretty cool, and will undoubtedly save you a lot of time if you're searching for something specific and don't want to get distracted by frivolous purchases. It's not just cycling deals either; it trawls all of our associated sites (Tom's Guide, TechRadar, Marie Claire, Digital Camera World etc.) so you can just as easily search for iPads as you can bike computers and it'll bring you all the best handpicked deals.

The best part is that it's not just reliant on a random feed of products or an outdated machine learning program, it's literally built using the variety of hand-picked deal 'blocks' that we writers create on our websites. The dozens of deals you scrolled past to get here, or those you'll see below, are pulled into its engine. As are the deals from the roundups on our sister sites, and then the AI searches for relevant content when you ask it to.

With that, you know you're getting deals that are legitimately recommended by real people who are experts in their field.

Cateye Orb lights

Those of you with good memories will remember this cateye lights deal from yesterday. Well, true to my word I bought myself not one set, but two, to pop on my road and gravel long-term test bikes.

If that's not an endorsement of a good deal for Prime Day I don't know what is.

Garmin Epix

In a similar vein, we spotted a Fenix 7X deal yesterday that was limited to just UK audiences. USA readers were forced to wait a little longer, but we eventually found this Epix Gen 2 deal. A very similar watch, with much the same functionality, but with a crisp AMOLED screen replacing the solar charging on the Fenix.

This too was at its best-ever price, so definitely one to consider if you're in the market for a top-end sports watch.

Month-old Apple tech getting discounted already

At first, there wasn't a similar deal available for readers in the UK, but then while browsing social media last night, a targeted advert confirmed that Amazon UK had followed suit, bringing the Watch Ultra 2 down from £699.00 to £669.00.

It's modest, but it's the best deal available on the highly-sought-after Watch Ultra 2 at the moment.

It's Josh with you to begin with.

I'm actually kicking this off earlier than planned this morning. My dogs decided they couldn't be bothered to go out for their morning walk just yet, so I thought I'd jump into this for an hour or so.

Do you care? Probably not.

Shall we get into some deals?

Good morning

It's morning here in at Cyclingnews HQ in the UK, and we're ready to rick-roll once again.

The weather is currently cloudy, and the sun hasn't quite broken the horizon yet. Official sunrise was just 15 minutes ago so we're in that dim early-morning phase where you can see, but absolutely still need lights on your bike.

Despite being October the 11th, the temperature is already 16C/61F and it's rising to a balmy 19C/66F and blazing sunshine later today. Obviously that's lovely, but also incredibly concerning given there are still people that think global warming is a myth.

Bike locks

There's nothing out there that will keep your bike 100% safe from determined thieves, but the best bike locks will put up a serious fight, either deterring them, or delaying them long enough for you to intervene (do be careful).

Among the millions of items for sale during this latest Prime Big Deal Days sale, bike locks seem fairly abundant, so we've done some digging, as well as cross-referencing our buyers guide to the best bike locks to see what might be worth a portion of your hard-earned paycheck. Here's what we've found:

UK Deals

USA Deals

More valueable than any of those deals, though, is knowing how to lock a bike correctly!

There are a few deals on Cateye lights highlighted in our Prime Day hub too, so to complete the picture, you can find them here:

While we're on the subject, there are a couple of other bike lights on offer from our buyer's guide too...

Bike lights 🔦

Magicshine RN3000

Hey team. Josh again. Sorry I left... I have a 10-month old puppy and it was time for walkies. I'm sure you care.

Anyway... bike lights. Unfortunately for everyone, except perhaps the puppy (she's part Husky), it's getting colder and darker outside. If you want to continue riding you have a few options:

1. Do as I just did, leave during working hours, and ride during the day. Sadly I didn't have time to ride but you get my point.

2. Ride indoors, as I may get chance to do later this evening 🤞

3. Buy some lights!

If the latter is you, then you're in luck as the Magicshine RN3000 is on offer with a neverbeforeseen 25% off in the USA.

Magicshine RN3000: $159.98

Magicshine RN3000: $159.98 $119.99
Save 25% - Awarded the best high-powered budget light in our grouptest, the RN3000 has a massive 3000 lumens of brightness, and a huge battery that means it can last 13 hours at the still-bright 750-lumen output.

Read our full Magicshine RN3000 review for details.

The Magicshine features in our guide to the best bike lights, and our resident bike light expert, Josh Ross, said it 'stands alone' from a price to performance point of view. Given that price is now even better, this is the one we'd buy.

park tool

🛠

Working on your bike is honestly a lot easier with decent, dedicated tools. For years I soldiered on with just a multi-tool and coarse language, before finally getting my hands on a complete dedicated toolbox.

You don't necessarily need a full toolbox to make your life easier, as for the most jobs you need one of a series of common Allen bolts. Park Tools are one of the biggest names in the bike tool business, are used in bike shops the world over, and have a reputation for quality. It also rarely discount its tools, so to find 34% off a set of T-handle hex wrenches is a real find!

My colleague Tom used to be a professional bike mechanic before he swapped the allen key for a pen (well, a keyboard...) and rates this as a mechanic approved deal.

Shokz headphones

Do you listen to music when you ride? I always do, and this is what I'd buy if I were you this Prime day:

What I'd buy: 31% off all Shokz headphones

Image

USA: 31% off all Shokz headphones at Amazon

UK: Up to 31% off Shokz headphones at Amazon

The USA is getting a marginally better deal here with every model discounted. Many of the models have the same 31% off in the UK, but some have a smaller discount (but still constitute a good deal).

In short, you're getting a set of headphones that allow you to listen to music while keeping your ear holes unobstructed, meaning you can hear any traffic or hazards far more easily, and therefore have a safer ride. The sound quality isn't quite so good as standard headphones, but it's a small price to pay for increased awareness.

Head to the spotlight deal page for a deeper dive into the savings.

100% sunglasses

Josh has gone for a lie down, Meaning Will is taking over for a bit

😎🚨😎🚨

Right, anyone who knows me knows I have a bit of a fetish for sunglasses (on-bike and off-bike). Everyone has their kinks, and this is a safe space... Anyway, I've tested over 40 pairs of cycling glasses in the last year or two while compiling our guide to the best cycling glasses and have got quite good at sorting the optical wheat from the blurry-visioned chaff.

The big news is that two of my favourite pairs of cycling glasses, both from American brand 100%, are on offer currently. You'll get varying discounts depending on colour and lens choices, but I've found the best ones so you don't have to.

The S3 are my pick for winter use as you get whopping coverage and a clear lens included for riding in the dark, while the Hypercraft are a featerweight option that comes into its own on steamy climbs or on super cold days when you want to avoid any fogging.

Or just get them 'cos they look great, but even if you do this you'll be safe in the knowledge that they'll perform as well.

Here's a detailed write-up if you want to know even more about them.

Image

100% S3 Sunglasses: $185.00 $125.30 at Amazon

Big coverage, comfortable, and easy lens swaps make these a real winner in my book, and the included clear lens makes them perfect for winter.

Image

100% Hypercraft Sunglasses: $185.00 $134.33 at Amazon
27% off -
Crazy light, great looks, and airy enough to stay on in the hottest conditions and avoid fogging in the coldest too. A clear lens is included here too!

Here's something we're actually going to buy!

Last Prime Day our Tech Writer, Tom, found his favourite lights were reduced. The same thing has happened this Prime Day, but this time the discount is even greater.

The Cateye Orb bar end lights replace your bar ends, making you seem wider from the back for incoming vehicles and are designed as an auxiliary set to a main rear beam. The best thing is that they are discounted, especially in the UK where there's a whopping 45% off, taking them down to under £11.

I (Will) don't spend any time riding indoors over winter, doing all my testing in the cold, wet, and dark, so once I get a coffee break from hunting for deals I'm going to buy myself a set if there are any left in stock!

If you want a little more on why these are so good, Tom has put together a spotlight page on them.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

If you liked our Garmin Fenix 7X deal from earlier, this might be up your street too. The Apple Watch Ultra 2, which launched just a month ago, is already being discounted by $50 over in the USA.

This is an iterative update over the original Watch Ultra, but with a few new tricks including the ability to tap your fingers together to control certain functions.

$799.00 <strong>$749.00</strong></a><strong><br> Save $50 - </strong>The difference between Watch Ultra and Watch Ultra 2 is primarily driven by the S9 chip inside. It's still a big fat chunk of cash though, so think hard before you commit.&nbsp;</p>" data-widget-type="deal" data-render-type="editorial">

🚨 MORE DEALS FOUND 🚨

Sorry, probably a bit overkill with the siren emojis there. They usually only come out when there are crosswinds in a Spring Classic.

But since I have your attention, Will has been busy beavering away on our main deals roundup, and he's updated it with a load more offers, including a handful that I've not gotten round to sharing here just yet!

For the very best Amazon Prime Day cycling deals, you know what to do! Do come back though... we'll be waiting.

best winter cycling gloves - Pearl Izumi AmFib Lobster Glove

Another find from Tom, here, using knowledge gleaned from our US-based tech writer Josh Ross. (We're such an effective team 😊)

The deal is a pair of Pearl Izumi AmFib Lobster gloves for 20% off. A modest saving, but hear us out.

The gloves were given a near-perfect 4.5-star review when Josh reviewed them back in January of 2022, praising their water-resistance, sustainable construction and the warmth-to-price ratio. He subsequently awarded them the 'best budget deep winter' option in our buyers guide.

A roundup of the roundups

Let's take a minute to call out some of the separate roundups we've covered so far.

Wahoo deals

Will Jones found a huge number of big Big Deals Day deals on Wahoo Fitness tech in the USA. They include the Kickr Core, the Kickr Snap, and the Elemnt Bolt v2 in a few different bundle options.

Check out his Prime Day Wahoo Deals roundup for more.

Three Garmin Fenix 7X watches sit on a orange and pink background

I (Josh) also dug out this Garmin smartwatch deal, which currently sees the Fenix 7X discounted to its best-ever price by far.

I've been actively using the Fenix 7 (not the X, but the middle-sized one) for the past few months and can personally vouch for its impressive feature set, long battery life and comfort.

There is a quirk with the price that Amazon is showing, but it's still one I'd happily recommend.

Another one from Tom here, and this time it's the Le Col Pro Mesh base layer. He really rated the long sleeve version when testing winter base layers, and the similarly-designed sleeveless option is currently available with 30% off in the USA.

Why are we doing this?

Throughout the year, we spend countless hours researching, testing and comparing bike tech to work out what's good, what's bad, and what's ugly. We then spend just as many hours writing those findings up in the form of reviews and buying guides.

See a handful of recent examples:

Among those guides, and any reviews, you'll find we also integrate links that enable you to head away to retailers to buy the product in question. That is a tool built by our employers which checks availability and then compares prices, as well as other metrics such as conversion rate. It will then share what it thinks is the best place to buy a product that we recommend.

That makes our lives much easier (imagine trying to manually keep track of prices of 1,000s of products every day!).

But price is a significant part of the purchase decision for everyone, so over deal events like Prime Day and Black Friday where discounts are abundant, we keep an extra close eye on the sales to see if any of our favourite pieces of kit are being offered up at better prices.

We also find that quite often, it's the products we wouldn't typically recommend at full retail price that get heavily discounted to the point that they become a worthwhile buy.

I'll start with an introduction

Throughout the next couple of days, you'll be joined by either Will Jones or myself, ably assisted by Tom Wieckowski in the background.

Will is a tech writer here at Cyclingnews. Great moustache, an excellent sense of humour, and writing and photography skills that I can only dream of. He's a long-time gravel rider, once-upon-a-time 'cross racer, and has even spent time building his own steel touring bike from little more than a handful of Reynolds tubes. He's the man behind a huge number of our buyer's guides and a very safe pair of hands to trust when it comes to buying and deals advice.

I've been part of the team here since 2019 and have covered every Prime Day and Black Friday since. Given there have been two per year for the past few, I think I'm close to double figures now. That, of course, is alongside helping to test and create our hundreds of helpful buying guides and reviewing countless bits of bike gear across road, gravel and indoors.

On the bike, I'm less inclined to getting wet and muddy. I like to race. I don't do it very much these days, but I did podium at the weekend in a local crit - 🥳🎉 - and I have two dogs with whom I bikejor
