Hello and welcome to our live coverage of stage 13 of the Vuelta a España!

A look at today's stage map.

Under an hour to go until the stage 13 start in Formigal.

Yesterday brought a sprint stage as Juan Sebastian Molano (UAE Team Emirates) outpaced Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Decuninck) to win in Zaragoza.

It was a quiet day at the Vuelta save for the final sprint. However, Primož Roglič did snatch back four seconds on Remco Evenepoel at the late intermediate sprint.

There'll be a 4.4km, 5.4 climb of the Puerto de Portalet to start the stage after the neutral zone.

Orluis Aular (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) is the third rider who didn't make the start today along with Jousseaume and Ghys. 157 riders start stage 13.

Off they go! The flag drops and stage 13 is underway.

16km left of the descent. Former KOM leader Eduardo Sepulveda (Lotto-Dstny) is on the attack.

A look at the upcoming climb – 16.5km at 7.1%.

Theuns, Sepulveda, and Castroviejo now have Edward Planckaert (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Stefan Bissegger (EF Education-EasyPost), and Imanol Erviti (Movistar) with them.

The leaders start the Aubisque.

10km to the top and there are still riders making moves but nothing going clear.

Still no breakaway almost halfway up the Aubisque.

Emanuel Buchmann (Bora-Hansgrohe), Max Poole (DSM-Firmenich) and Pelayo Sánchez (Burgos-BH) are on the attack now.

More riders go across. Reports that former race leader Lenny Martinez is in trouble at the back of the peloton. He's still fifth overall.

7km to the top. Around 50 in the peloton.

Thomas has made the front group but the peloton is coming back.

Reports coming through that Remco Evenepoel has been dropped along with João Almeida! Wow...

This is very unexpected. A nightmare scenario for the Belgian and, honestly, for the race as a whole – he's the main challenger to a very strong Jumbo-Visma leadership trio.

Evenepoel is going backwards in the chase group now.

He's off the rear of the group now with his teammates going backwards alongside him. 1.5km to the top.

He's a minute behind the peloton and 1:20 down on new solo leader Michael Storer (Groupama-FDJ).

This is game over for Evenepoel.

85km to go

Storer crosses the top of the climb alone.

He's 35 seconds up on the peloton, 1:55 up on Evenepoel's group.

Almeida is between the peloton and Evenepoel, though closer to the former.

If this is game over for Evenepoel and Almeida – and assuming that Soler and Martinez won't hold their current positions – then Ayuso and Mas figure to be the only GC men left to take the fight to the Jumbo-Visma trio. The pair lie at 2:25 and 2:50 down on race leader Kuss.

Time to head down the Aubisque descent.

More riders with Storer now – Kron is there with Cristian Rodríguez (Arkéa-Samsic) and Kenny Elissonde (Lidl-Trek).

Now more riders nip off the front on the way down.

Sepp Kuss and Jonas Vingegaard have jumped along with Bahrain Victorious duo Mikel Landa and Damiano Caruso!

Evenepoel at 2:40 down now. Almeida at 1:30.

The Vuelta organisation now stating that Evenepoel is actually 5:30 down!

Meanwhile, Michael Storer attacks the peloton 1.5km from the top.

He's fourth in the mountain classification with 15 points gained on the Aubisque. If he leads over the Spandelles than he'll leapfrog Herrada to take the KOM lead.

Storer has a decent gap to the group behind. He'll lead it across the summit of the Spandelles.

22 seconds from Storer to the rest as he heads over the top.

There were bonus seconds on offer at the top of the climb. Storer took six while a Jumbo-Visma rider was second to take four.

48km to go

Into the final 50km of the day now as Storer knocks off his effort on the way down.

Almeida now at two minutes. Evenepoel at 7:20.

Vingegaard took the four bonus seconds at the top of the Spandelles, by the way. Ayuso grabbed two for third place.

The leaders nearing the bottom of the descent.

The riders now in the valley road ahead of the final climb.

We're just waiting for the Tourmalet now.

We haven't had any time checks on Almeida or Evenepoel recently but they're well out of it.

The riders are almost at the Tourmalet.

Heading through the town of Luz-Saint-Sauveur now.

Onto the climb now and Jumbo-Visma continue to lead.

Almeida is at 3:15 down, meanwhile.

A very resilient ride from the Spaniard so far. He's been on the back for the whole start of the climb and has seen multiple riders drop past him.

He's hanging a few metres off the rear now.

Vlasov, Cras, Soler just ahead of Lopez in the line.

Kelderman continues to make the pace. It will be interesting to see what Jumbo-Visma do when he pulls off.

But now he's losing ground...

He's gone. Now it's Vlasov and Cras at the back.

Great ride from Cras so far. He and Uijtdebroeks are 15th and 14th overall. The other men in this group fill out the top 11 overall.

Though of course, Evenepoel, Almeida, and Martinez are missing from this group from the top 11 on GC.

Just under four hours of racing on a brutal stage.

Now the stopwatch starts.

Sepp Kuss comes in for second place now.

Kuss crosses the line at around 30 seconds down.

Roglič makes it a 1-2-3 just a few seconds later.

Ayuso leads Uijtdebroeks and Mas home at 38 seconds down.

Total domination from Jumbo-Visma.

Vlasov crosses the line at 2:15 down.

Soler in at just over three minutes down.

Landa at 1:15 in seventh, Vlasov at 2:12 in eighth, Cras at 2:32 in ninth, Soler at 3:08 in 10th.

Vingegaard on the way to victory on the Tourmalet.

More riders filter in... Carthy in 11th at 4:42, Lopez in 14th at 5:29, Martinez in 18th at 8:25...

The new GC standings see Kuss lead Roglič by 1:37 while Vinegegaard is third at 1:44.

Ayuso and Mas are the next best riders at 2:37 and 3:06 down.

Here's what Jonas Vingegaard had to say after his stage win...

"I'm just so happy and i couldn't choose a better day. Today is the birthday of my daughter and I wanted to win for her so bad today. I'm just so happy and today I did it for her.

"Our plan was to see if we could take some time on the opponents today. That happened and I'm just so happy and proud to do it today. This one is for my daughter Frida.

"I think [the 1-2-3] was even better than the plan."

Kuss crossing the line with Roglič charging in for third place behind him.

Evenepoel's group now riding up the top of the climb with the timer passing the 19-minute mark.

Meanwhile, Vingegaard is stepping onto the podium.

Ayuso leads home Uijtdebroeks and Mas.

Evenepoel's group inside the final kilometre now at 24 minutes and counting.

Almeida finished in 16th at 6:47.

Evenepoel crossed the line in 60th place at 27:05 down.
